🍭 Sweet Writing Fun in Mrs. Grimes’ Class! 🍭 Mrs. Grimes’ class had a sweet time learning about adjectives! They enjoyed a delicious lollipop while using descriptive words to bring their writing to life. ✏️🍭 Who knew writing could be this sweet?! 😋📚

🏗️Second Grade Engineers at Work! 🏗️ Today, our second graders put on their engineer hats and teamed up to build the tallest free-standing structure! 📏 There was lots of communication, trial and error, problem-solving, and a few “aha!” moments—including discovering that a strong foundation matters! 💡 After all the building, rebuilding, and teamwork, Killian and Harley walked away with the winning structure! 🏆🎉 Way to build, think, collaborate, and problem-solve, Sea Kings! 💙🧡💙👑

🍧📚 QUEST helped K celebrate Hispanic Heritage today—and it was SWEET! ❤️💚 We read Paletero Man and then did what any good readers would do… enjoyed popsicles just like the story! 😋🍦 A little reading, a little culture, and a whole lot of yummy fun! 🎉✨

🏎️💙 QUEST Night was a SUCCESS! 💙🏎️ A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out tonight for our Gifted Discovery & QUEST Night! 🔍🧠✨ We had a night full of hands-on learning, brain-bending challenges, family fun, and LOTS of spaghetti! 🍝😋 From puzzles and problem-solving to learning more about gifted screening, our Sea King families brought their best thinking caps! 🌱🔬 Second Grade Scientists Are Growing Their Knowledge! 🔬🌱 Our second graders have been busy exploring scientific texts, scientific ideas, and steps in a process! 📚✨ Last week, they wrapped Lima beans in wet paper towels, placed them in bags, and taped them to the window to see if water + sunlight = sprouts! 🌱☀️ This week, they’re planting grass seeds to create their very own “Grass Heads!” 🌿😄 They’re documenting each step of the process as they wait for their grass “hair” to grow. Hands-on learning, scientific thinking, and a little silliness make for some happy scientists! 💚🔬🌱 Our Sea Kings are racing to proficiency—one growing experiment at a time! 🏁👑🧡💙🧡

💙👑 Grandparents + Lunch = The Perfect Day! 👑💙 Our Sea Kings had the BEST time celebrating Grandparents Day with a special lunch filled with smiles, hugs, laughter, and lots of love! 🥰🍎 Nothing beats making sweet memories with the ones who love us BIG! 💙 Happy Grandparents Day! 🧡💙🧡

🇺🇸 Remembering September 11 🇺🇸 Our second graders spent time learning about September 11, 2001, exploring the history behind the day and learning about the many heroes who demonstrated courage, kindness, and selflessness. ❤️ To honor those who helped others and to keep their stories remembered, students created special paper-bag books celebrating the heroes of 9/11. Through learning, reflection, and meaningful conversations, our Sea Kings are remembering the past and honoring the heroes who made a difference. 🇺🇸💙 We Remember. We Honor. We Never Forget. 🕊️
